25 km southwest of Milas lies Gulluk, within a beautiful bay and the sparkling waters of the sea. Gulluk is an important stop over for tourists who are booked to sail the Blue Cruise tour and also has an important freight shipping port. The place itself is somewhat less frantic than other Turkish seaside resorts and therefore more relaxed. Close to Bodrum and the airport, it is however a growing place with lovely cafes dotting the harbor side and fishermen going about their business like hundreds of years before. Local prawns are delicious and can be enjoyed in the kitchens all around town. Tourists can chill out on one of the many local beaches, go for a hike, taste olives or do something more adventurous.
